Precision CNC Machining Company specializes in medical, government, aerospace and automotive specialized metal machine parts. This machine shop has high electrical and machine requirements prompting careful coordination between the architect and RJM to meet the client's needs. The 30,000-sq.-ft. building in which the company is located required an upsize in its transformer and the dock space had to be incorporated into the machine shop to allow more space for the shop. Extra care was taken with the lighting to provide as much light as possible resulting in dropped lighting in addition to standard ceiling lighting. Adjacent to the machine shop is a small office with an employee lounge.
