MINNEAPOLIS (July 27, 2017) — RJM Construction, a Minnesota-based general contractor, is proud to announce that Thomas Hussong, project scheduler, has earned certification in lean construction by the Association of General Contractors.
The AGC Certificate of Management-Lean Construction (CM-Lean) is an assessment-based certificate credential that denotes knowledge and understanding of concepts related to lean adoption, practice and process transformation outlined in AGC’s Lean Construction Education Program.
Lean construction is based on the pursuit of continuous improvements aimed at minimizing costs and maximizing value on a construction project: planning, design, construction, activation, operations, maintenance, salvaging, and recycling. Hussong successfully completed over 40 hours of coursework based upon these principles, followed by a comprehensive four-hour exam.
“We’re continually looking for ways to complete projects more efficiently,” stated Ted Beckman, senior vice president. “Promoting the CM-Lean designation demonstrates RJM’s commitment to helping our employees grow professionally.”
Hussong earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Prior to his current role, he worked 12 months in the field as an assistant superintendent.
