RJM Construction is nearing completion of the City of Maple Grove’s Fernbrook Fields Athletic Complex and Site Improvements project.
Located at 99th Avenue and Fernbrook Lane in Maple Grove, the 19-acre site has been transformed to include:
- Four sports fields
- Snack bar and restroom facilities
- Pavilion building
- Playground
- Surface parking lot with 245 stalls
The placement of the synthetic turf is in progress, and will have striping for soccer, lacrosse and football. One unique feature of these fields is the turf specification. FieldTurf CoolPlay is a layered system composed of sand, cryogenic (SBR) rubber, and composed cork. When installed the materials provide a 20-degree reduction in the surface temperature. Fernbrook Fields will be the first fields in the Midwest to utilize this type of system.
