RJM is busy completing the final phase of West St. Paul’s Gateway Place Apartments, getting ready for tenants. This affordable housing complex is a collaborative effort between LHB, Dakota County, RJM, and TRI-Construction.
The Dakota County Community Development Agency (CDA) hired the team to construct the apartment building containing 54 units, situated on a 1.7-acre site that had been vacant since 2014. Located on the city’s border with St. Paul, the $8,750,000 complex will be made up of affordable efficiency and one-bedroom apartments. This project began in August 2020, and the team is on schedule to complete it next month.
Early on the team leaders expressed their excitement to get this complex built for prospective tenants in the community.
“We are excited to be a part of a great team with CDA and LHB, providing working individuals a much-needed quality and affordable place to live. This project continues to diversify and grow RJM’s multifamily market and we are especially excited to continue our relationship with Tri-Construction,” said Carter Vargo, RJM’s Vice President – Corporate and Multifamily.
“This is another great opportunity for us to build a project providing needed housing to our community,” said Calvin Littlejohn, Tri-Construction’s CEO.
“We look forward to working with the team of RJM Construction and Tri-Construction on Gateway Place,” said Kari Gill, Deputy Executive Director for the Dakota County CDA. “This project is a new venture for the agency and will provide much needed general occupancy affordable housing.”
