The “State of the Industry” Panel
It’s hard to believe that already we’re one month into 2022! As we move forward and get down to work this year, I was glad to have been a part of REJournal Minnesota’s one-day 2022 Construction Summit held at Golden Valley Country Club on January 27. Along with my colleagues from a select group of other Minnesota-based general contractors, I sat on the Industry Assessment: Opportunities in Today’s Commercial Construction Marketplace panel.
Along with the pleasure of the opportunity to network with folks from the industry face-to-face instead of virtually, it was good to discuss the things that are impacting all of our businesses.
On the Industry Assessment panel which included Jason Gabrick (Ryan Cos.) Brad Hendrickson (A&P), Rich Jacobson (Kraus-Anderson), Cary Miller (McGough) we took a deep dive into these topics:
The group’s discussion underlined the fact that many of our challenges are present across the board in all aspects of our industry. Despite some of the challenges we’ve managed during the pandemic, and those that may still remain before us, we also agree that there are opportunities for innovation and new business. This was time well-spent and I appreciate REJournal hosting the summit.
RJM founders shift duties to Board activity only
RJM Construction’s CEO Bob Jossart and COO Joe Maddy, who co-founded RJM Construction in 1997, are stepping down from their executive leadership duties. With this move Jossart and Maddy will hold leadership positions on RJM’s Board of Directors.
All operational business of the company will be led by myself and Senior Vice President Ted Beckman, along with executive leadership team members Vice President Finance, Paul Wade, and General Counsel, Vice President Risk Management Jim Lockhart. Any queries about the company should now be directed to this team instead of to Jossart and Maddy.
On a related note, RJM Construction will celebrate our 25th anniversary this year. Watch out for more information and updates in the coming weeks!
