Excell Academy of Higher Learning

RJM was hired to build an addition to the existing Excell Academy charter school in Brooklyn Park.

Excell Academy’s mission is to prepare students for higher education and become positive, productive citizens. The project included new classrooms, offices, landscaping, and a parking lot and playground which will be shared with the City of Brooklyn Park.

This project started as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, and right before the State of Minnesota’s Stay at Home order. The team overcame potential project delays (or a complete shut-down) from their diligence with the submittals and material orders process, staying ahead of extended lead times. Early on during the pandemic, RJM’s COVID-19 Task Force worked hard to implement safety procedures and precautions to keep the job sites and team safe and productive.

Despite any COVID-19-related setbacks, the project not only stayed on schedule, but we worked to achieve savings which allowed Excell Academy to bring additional scope items within the original budget.
