The City of Maple Grove selected RJM Construction to transform a 19-acre site into four new outdoor sports fields.

A unique feature is the FieldTurf CoolPlay, a material that reduces the surface temperature by 20 degrees. Fernbrook Fields is the first to utilize this type of turf in the Midwest.

The site also included a snack bar and restroom building, pavilion, storage, playground, a new parking lot with 245 stalls, mechanical room, and outdoor seating space.

With an early winter and wet spring, these conditions presented a challenge to dry out the field in order to lay down the FieldTurf. With detailed coordination and pull-planning, the team condensed the field schedule for efficiency.
