Northfield Hospital Birth Center and Clinic Expansion

Teaming with BWBR, RJM worked on a major addition and remodel for Northfield Hospital.

The project included a 16,000 square-foot addition to the birthing center and 4,200 square-foot clinic addition. The new space provides 12 clinic exam rooms, 14 inpatient rooms, a nursery, and inviting nurse stations. Work included remodeling of areas within the existing birthing center and clinic, utilizing a calming neutral color palate with modern touches and materials.

Working within an occupied healthcare environment required careful planning and coordination. The birthing center addition extended over the existing loading dock, creating unique logistical challenges. We worked hand-in-hand with labor and delivery staff and facilities, and created detailed phasing and patient and staff flow diagrams to maintain standards of care.
