Children’s Minnesota Specialty Center – Lakeville
Children’s Minnesota wanted to expand and add another specialty children’s care.
This new clinic offers rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, speech and feeding therapy. Behavioral health services will be added in the summer of 2021. The facility includes patient rooms, small gyms, and meeting rooms. Many of the rooms will be used for patients with behavioral health issues, so we built ligature-resistant components throughout the space for the safety of the patients. Prior to commencing construction, more demolition work was required than had been expected. RJM worked with the architect BDH to update plans and bring back some of the components that originally should have stayed in the space, like the vestibule, while still keeping the project within budget. This was a tight schedule but the project was completed on time and within budget.
