RJM Construction COVID-19 Response

March 24, 2020

At RJM the safety and well-being of our employees, contracting partnersand clients is our top priority. Concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, we are actively monitoring the risk of exposure to the coronavirus in our community and are taking precautions to prevent its spread.

RJM has established a committee to actively research and observe this rapidly evolving situationEach day this committee monitors the guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the World Health Organization (WHO)the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and the State of Minnesota to adjust our safety protocols for both the office and the field as necessary, based on any new published developments.

The following actions are now in place to mitigate the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19:

Communication: The committee’s priority is to continually be aware of and share critical information that affects our employees and business partners. We have the teams, toolsand processes in place so that in both the office and in the field, individuals are provided the appropriate guidelines for a safe working environment.

Screening: All RJM and project partners (clients, subcontractors, consultants, and visitors) must meet our health screening requirements and each day and sign a form before entering our offices or job sites. These requirements are based on CDC and WHO guidelines. Any individual who does not meet the requirements is not allowed on site for 14 days. Additionallywe are asking that any individual who becomes sick or experiences the identified symptoms of COVID-19 during their work shift, they immediately report to their supervisor and leave the site or office. They will not be allowed to return until they have cleared our required health screening.

Working Remotely: RJM is committed to serving our clients to ensure their projects are successful and their visions come to life. We have developed job site and office protocols following best practices and recommended precautions to protect all employees and client teams – to keep your projects moving forward. For those individuals who do not require a presence in the office or on site, have the option to work remotely. RJM has the technology and tools in place to ensure that team members stay connected and can accomplish their work as usual.

Sanitation and Cleaning: In the field, our safety and quality control teams have implemented additional sanitation and cleaning protocols for all job sites. This includes tools, materials, restroom areas, hand washing stations, and more. With what we now know about transmission of the coronavirus, if we observe community transmission on the job from a particular trade partner, we request that the existing crew is replaced with a “clean” crew, who will be required to wear face coverings on the job site. In our offices, we have increased the frequency of regular office area cleaning and implemented additional cleaning practices. We have installed directional signage and markers indicating safe social distancing throughout the office, including in meeting spaces, cubicles, and break areas.

We are continually monitoring our protocols to meet the established guidelines as provided by the CDC and OSHA.

Projects: Unless ordered to cease work, we plan to continue work on projects. We are closely monitoring the State of Minnesota guidelines and will communicate with all relevant parties should any project require temporary shut-down.
