MINNEAPOLIS (March 21, 2016) — RJM Construction, a Minneapolis-based general contractor, has been selected by the City of Shakopee to oversee construction of a new two-sheet ice arena. The project is an extension to the Shakopee Community Center and will include a remodel of the existing recreational facility.
A groundbreaking ceremony is planned on April 1. Representatives from the City of Shakopee, local businesses and residents will be in attendance.
The project will be completed in multiple phases, beginning with construction of the ice arena. “The focus of the project is create a community gathering place for all residents, where community members feel ownership of the facility and are proud to call it their own,” stated Jamie Polley, City of Shakopee Director of Parks & Recreation. “We are excited to bring this long-anticipated project to life.”
