RJM Construction to build new facility for Porsche of Minneapolis

August 25, 2014

MINNEAPOLIS (Aug. 25, 2014) — RJM Construction, a Minneapolis-based general contractor, has been selected by Carousel Motor Group to build a new facility for its Porsche of Minneapolis dealership. Located at 9595 Wayzata Blvd., Golden Valley, the new Porsche of Minneapolis building will be constructed on the parking lot of the existing dealership location. The dealership will remain open during construction.

Porsche of MinneapolisAt 31,000 sq. ft., Porsche of Minneapolis will be increasing its size by 18,000 sq. ft. over its existing facility. The new building will include an expanded showroom and the repair shop. Using materials that incorporate the latest Porsche brand features, the building will include an exterior metal facade, a curtain wall system and interior finishes with Porsche signature colors. Construction will begin in October 2014 and will be complete by July 2015. RJM Construction also provided pre-construction services to the project.

“Working with RJM, we looked at both remodeling and expanding the existing facility versus building a new one. Ultimately, building new allowed us to minimize the disruption to our business and gave us more flexibility with planning our new space,” said Jay Hulbert, president, Carousel Motor Group.

Baker Associates has been selected as the project architect. Previously, RJM Construction worked with Carousel Motor Group to build a new facility for North Branch Chevrolet in North Branch in 2013.
