MINNEAPOLIS (July 31, 2017) — RJM Construction, a Minnesota-based general contractor, has been selected by the City of Shakopee to oversee their downtown public improvements project.
“The City’s goal is to enhance the visibility and vitality of downtown Shakopee,” stated Michael Kerski, Shakopee Director of Planning and Development. “We’ve gone through an extensive planning process and are excited to begin construction.”
The project includes reconstructing the Lewis Street parking lot with landscaping, specialty pavement, and a new concrete alley; construction of a new plaza at the River City Center including two pieces of sculpture; development of a new gateway pedestrian plaza with brick sculptural elements and concrete crosswalks across County Highway 101 to Huber Park.
Construction is scheduled to begin August 1. In addition to RJM, the project team includes WSB & Associates.
This is the second project RJM has acted as construction manager for the City of Shakopee. The Ice Arena and Community Center Expansion project was completed earlier this month.
