Ryan Companies selected RJM Construction to renovate Downtown Minneapolis’ City Center.
Precast and curtainwall systems were removed and replaced. During construction temporary partitions were installed on the facade to keep the building secure and weathertight. All new metal panels were installed on the entire façade to create a new look.
The team discovered that the slab edge was offset from the exterior and therefore the entire exterior elevation had to be framed differently than originally planned. The process took significantly longer and forced the project into winter months. The subsequent impacts provided that the metal panels, water proofing, and stone work all required heat and cover off the scaffolding.
