RJM Construction was hired to build a chapel within the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s hospital.
The non-denominational chapel was named in honor of Quinn Seymour, a child who died in 2012 fighting a rare disorder with no cure. The Seymour family spent four years raising money to build a space giving children a place to play and parents a place to find peace. Designed with families in mind, the project’s custom features include recessed play caves, a fiber optic ceiling mimicking the night sky, three-dimensional millwork and flooring with the illusion of a flowing river. An artist was also commissioned to create an extraordinary mosaic centerpiece. With a variety of skilled trades and custom finishes, RJM carefully coordinated the project within five weeks.
