RJM Construction was chosen by Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC) to build a new facility located at 1160 Helmo Avenue in Oakdale, Minn. The 45,000 square-foot-building will provide more space for AERC to meet the current demand for their specialized animal health care services. The project team is scheduled to break ground on Friday, August 13th, with completion set for fall 2022.
AERC’s existing Oakdale location at 1163 Helmo Avenue provides 24/7 emergency care along with eleven different specialty services including Avian and Exotic Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Neurology to name just a few. The new clinic will serve as a brand-new specialty center, allowing the current space to handle urgent care-only patients.
The RJM team will leverage their healthcare construction expertise to ensure AERC’s facility is built to meet increasingly specialized animal wellness needs. Koma is the design firm working on the project.
“Many people today demand an elevated level of care for their pets, and that requires a facility that is up to the task. We’re looking forward to building this state-of-the-art referral center to enable AERC to grow their specialized services,” said Carter Vargo, Vice President – Corporate.
“Our team size has increased exponentially since we took occupancy of our current facility. They’ve worked really hard, in close quarters, to provide the high quality of care for which AERC has become known. We’re excited to have a new facility that will give the healthcare team space to grow and do the important work of taking care of their companion animal family member,” said Dr. Karen Reynhout, Hospital Director, AERC.
