GOLDEN VALLEY (July 29, 2019) — RJM Construction, a Minnesota-based general contractor, has been selected by Northfield Hospital + Clinics to build an expansion for its Birth Center and Northfield Clinic.
Teaming with BWBR, RJM is providing pre-construction services in preparation for an October groundbreaking. The project includes a 16,000 square-foot addition to the Birth Center and 4,200 square-foot addition to the Northfield Clinic.
When complete, the Birth Center will gain an additional labor delivery room, increase the number of inpatient rooms and expand the nursery. Northfield Clinic will provide additional exam rooms and relocate the clinic’s lab to a more patient-friendly location. Areas within the existing Birth Center and Northfield Clinic will be remodeled to meet changing patient needs.
“These two expansions reflect our growth as a regional medical center,” said Northfield Hospital + Clinics CEO Steve Underdahl. “As communities around us grow, and more people choose Northfield Hospital + Clinics for their care, we’re poised to meet the growing demand for expert, personalized care close to home.”
Underdahl added, “Our Northfield Clinic expansion gives people more access to care, with more appointment times available and more providers to choose from. The Birth Center expansion lets us accommodate more births at the same time, as more families across the region choose our Birth Center to welcome their babies.”
Construction is expected to be complete in early 2021.
Project documents will be available for bidding on or about August 6, 2019. Interested trades should contact Matt Severson, RJM estimator, to gain access to the project documents.
